Josie Lyles Williams, 68 years 22 days, of Oklahoma City went home to our Lord and Savior on July 22, 2013. Born June 30, 1945 in Oklahoma City, OK. The youngest of 13 children of Chester and Vernal Lyles, John (JW), Annette, Lenora, Loren Chester, Teresa, Lulu, Norbert Allen, Loretta Mae, Jerry Lee, William Ray (Bill), Edward James (Eddie),and Vernon (Gilbert) Lyles. Josie attended Choctaw HS. She got her HS Diploma from Siuslaw HS Florence, Oregon. On June 17, 1961 Josie married JP (John) Williams in Midwest City, Oklahoma. After working for the Oklahoma City Public Schools District for 11 years she retired June 1, 2013. She had worked in the wood industries in Missoula Montana for 3 years, the Pear Point Inn Florence Oregon 2 years and the Snack Bar Florence Oregon 1 year. Josie lived in Oklahoma City until 1965 when she moved to Florence, Oregon, went to Missoula Montana in 1974, left Montana in 1976 went to SE Oklahoma, Wright City till 1979, then on to Corrigan Texas till 1991 returning to Oklahoma City. Josie was a Christian in every way of her life, work and play. She gave the Oklahoma Baptist Children's Home and her family credit for all her faith. Josie spoke and told lots of stories about the 5 years she and the 4 youngest boys Jerry, Bill, Eddie, and Gilbert spent in the Oklahoma Baptist Children's Home on 63rd and N. Penn, Oklahoma City.

Josie is survived by her husband JP Williams of the home; daughter, Angela Jo Williams of Oklahoma City; son JP Williams, Jr. of Oelwein, Iowa; 2 grandsons, Kenny Walls and Joshua Williams both of Oklahoma City; 2 granddaughters, Tammy Wegner and Jennifer Williams of Oelwein, Iowa; 6 great-grandchildren; 1 sister, Loretta Cedervall of Huntsville, Texas; 2 brothers, Jerry Lee Lyles of Newalla, OK and Willliam Ray (Bill) of Oklahoma City, and numerous nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Father, Chester Lyles in 1972 and Mother, Vernal Lyles in 1976; sisters, Annett (Ann) Morgan in 2002, Lenora Conners in 2005, Teresa Baker in 1992, and Lulu Wright in 2009; brothers, Loren Lyles in 1998, John (JW) Lyles in 2007, Norbert Allen Lyles in 2001, Edward James (Eddie) Lyles in 1998 and Vernon (Gilbert) Lyles in 2006. Visitation will be held from 11:00am to 8:00pm Friday, July 26, 2013. Funeral Services will be held 11:00am Saturday, July 27, 2013 in the Resthaven Funeral Home Chapel with interment to follow in Resthaven Memory Gardens.
