Mr. Watkins was born in Toccoa, GA, a son of the late Dave Jackson and Merle Cortez Coe Watkins.
He moved to Aiken in 1953, and worked for E.I. DuPont and Westinghouse at the Savannah River Plant. He was a member of Talatha Baptist Church and the New Ellenton Masonic Lodge #389.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Alma Pickens Watkins; two daughters, Rebecca (Noel) Reese, New Holland, Rhonda (Thad) Burleson, Windsor; two sons, Brent (Debra) Watkins, Aiken, Darren (June) Watkins, Aiken; 11 grandchildren, eight great grandchildren; a sister, Edna (Rodney) Moore, Toccoa, GA; a brother, Rex (Dot) Watkins, Toccoa, GA; sister-in-law, Juddie Watkins, Livonia, GA.
Mr. Watkins was preceded in death by a sister, Atha Padgett Heard and a brother, Jack Watkins.
