Mrs. Sara Crocker Henderson, age 78, wife of Furman L. Henderson died Tuesday, December 8, 2009 at Ellen Sagar Nursing Home.

Mrs. Henderson was born in Union, May 3, 1931, a daughter of the late Marion E. and Viola Mabry Crocker. She was a member of Westside Baptist Church and a graduate of Union High School. Mrs. Henderson was retired from the Belk Department Store.

Surviving in addition to her husband are a son Anthony F. Henderson, I and wife, Teresa of Union; a sister, Virginia (Jent) Foster of Lockhart; a brother, Marion E. Crocker and wife Nancy of Union; three grandchildren: Anthony F. Henderson, II and wife Katy, Morgan H. Rholetter and husband Allen and Gordon A. Henderson and fiancee', Nicole Howell; three great grandchildren: Sarah Hope Henderson, Dakota Hunter Rholetter, Kavelin Gage Rholetter and a number of nieces and nephews. Mrs. Henderson was predeceased by a son, Lester Gene Henderson and two sisters, Hazel C. Puckett and Linda C. Busbee.

Funeral services will be held at 3:00 PM Friday, December11, 2009 at the S.R. Holcombe Chapel conducted by Rev. Scott Cobb and Rev. David Berry. Burial will be at Rosemont Cemetery.

Visitation will be held 6:00 until 8:00 PM Thursday evening at the S.R. Holcombe Funeral Home.

Active pallbearers will be Anthony Henderson, II, Gordon Henderson, Allen Rholetter, Perry Barber, Butch Foster and Darrell Johnson. The family has asked that the nurses and staff of Ellen Sagar Nursing Home to sit in a group.
