Helen Loraine Welch Reynolds Able MARION, Va. Helen Loraine Welch Reynolds Able, age 77, passed away Tuesday, Dec. 29, 2009, at the Smyth County Community Hospital in Marion. She was born in Bartley, W.Va., to the late Ray Donald Welch and Frances Louise Witt Welch, and was preceded in death by her first husband, James Randolph Reynolds; and her second husband, Ray Able. She graduated from the Big Creek High School in War, W.Va., and worked at the Marion Diner for several years and also at the Southwestern Virginia State Hospital. She was a member of The Church of God in Browns Subdivision. Survivors include: four children, Debbie Smith and husband Clayton, Cedar Bluff, Va., James Ray Reynolds and wife Angie, Iager, W.Va., Michael Reynolds and wife Sharon, Marion, Va., Danny Reynolds and wife Debbie, Marion; one stepson, Raymond Peter Able and wife Ruth, Marion; brothers and sisters, Virginia Brown, Mooresville, N.C., Carl Welch and wife Judy, Bartley, W.Va., Roscoe Welch and wife Hytheria, Mavisville, Va., Osco Welch and wife Donna Sue, Collinsville, Va., Doris Dillow and husband Mike, Abingdon, Va., Linda and Dennis Farris, Seven Mile Ford, Va.; grandchildren, Craig Reynolds and wife Jera, Stephanie Reynolds, Clay Smith, Kim Coe, Terra Lynn Reynolds, Troy Reynolds and Stephanie Hafley, Gregory Reynolds and wife Mandy, James Andrew Reynolds, Kathy Reynolds; great- granddaughters, Ava Reynolds, Gracie Reynolds, Kamryn Reynolds, Alea Reynolds; step-grandchildren, Josh Able and Matt Able; many nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 30, 2009, at the Bradley's Funeral Home Chapel in Marion with Dr. Mark Ross officiating. Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. at the Green Hill Memory Gardens in Claypool Hill. The family will receive friends Wednesday from 10 - 11 a.m. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Church of God, 557 Friendly Circle, Marion, VA 24354. Expressions of sympathy may be sent to the family at www.bradleysfh.com Bradley's Funeral Home, Marion, is serving the family of Mrs. Able.
