On Sunday, December 21, 2003, at Mainland Medical Center in Texas City, Mrs. Ora Vivian Gray departed this life to be with the Lord.

Visitation will begin at 4 p.m. Friday, December 26, 2003, at the Galilee Baptist Church, 6609 Fairwood
Road in Hitchcock followed by a wake from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. Funeral services will be 12 p.m. Saturday,
December 27, 2003, at Galilee Baptist Church with Pastor B. J. Hunter officiating. Burial will follow at Grace Memorial Park Cemetery in Hitchcock under the direction of Mainland Funeral Home of La Marque.

Mrs. Gray was born February 12, 1933, in Livingston, Texas, to the late P. W. Waddles and Amanda McCardell Waddles. She was a longtime resident of Hitchcock, Texas, and a devoted member of Galilee Baptist Church, where she was a member of the Sr. Mission, Mass Choir, Minister, Deacons and Trustee's Wives. She was also a member of Galilee Court #323 Heroines of Jericho - Prince Hall Affiliation. Mrs. Gray was employed with UTMB Hospital in Galveston as a lab technician until her retirement with sixteen years of dedicated service. She loved gardening and her joy was her church. Her church home became her blended and extended family, not only giving her spiritual pleasure, but loving support.

She is preceded in death by her parents, four siblings, Clifton Waddles, Calvin Waddles, Asa Lee Bennett and Pearlie Hogan; and son, Emile Gray, Jr. She leaves to cherish her legacy of love, her devoted husband of fortysix years, Emile Gray Sr. of Hitchcock; her children, Leon (Rosetta) Bennett of Texas City, Michael (Mattie) Williams of Waco, Edmond (Chris) Frank of Galveston, Robbie (Larry) Asberry of Texas City and Clarence (Pamela) Gray of La Marque; seventeen grandchildren, thirteen great-grandchildren; four godchildren; devoted brother- in-law Sterling Hogan of Texas City; devoted sisterin- law, Ruby McClary of
Houston; devoted friends, Doris McDaniel and Ruth Hayes, both of Hitchcock; and a host of nieces, nephews, her Galilee church family, other family members and friends.
