J.M. Bagwell, who states residence in GA since 16 Sept 1839, has CSA pension applications on line under Dekalb and Cobb Counties. He says he served in Co. K of the 36th GA regiment. He was wounded in the right knee at the Battle of Baker's Creek, Mississippi in May of 1863. After the surrender of Vicksburg (Miss.), he was captured, paroled and exchanged. He returned to his unit at Chickamauga and surrendered with them in Greensboro, N. C. See pension #178216-00243 under Cobb county. He also applied for an increase of his pension from $50 to $125 due to blindness while in Dekalb County, GA . See GA Pension 178674-00975 also.
