Wilma Louise Winters, 91, formerly of Connersville, passed away Tuesday, June 18, 2013, at Pickens, South Carolina.

One of three children, she was born December 4, 1921 in Fayette County, Indiana, the daughter of Arthur Vernon and Madge L. (Kennedy) Henry.

A member of the 1939 class of Connersville High School, following graduation, she attended beauty school in Indianapolis and was employed as a beautician at the Pollyanna Beauty Shop in Connersville.

In January 1942, she, along with her sister, Marcile, and a friend, Barbara Fowler Melvin, entered the Women's Army Corp and served in England, France and Germany from 1942 until 1945; after earning a rank of T-3 and an honorable discharge from the WAC, she returned to Connersville where she was employed at the Fayette County License Branch and, later, at the Fayette Bank and Trust Company from 1976-1986.

On January 4, 1948, she and James E. Winters of Connersville were married in the First Methodist Church; Mr. Winters preceded his wife in death May 2, 1984.

Wilma was a life-member of Kappa Sigma Sorority, Fayette Culture Club and the Elks Club.

Survivors include two sons, Thomas J. (Rosemarie) Winters of Central, South Carolina and Mark H. (Vicky) Winters of El Paso, Texas, three grandchildren, Beth (Ian) Johnson of Charleston, South Carolina, Mark E. Winters of Central, South Carolina and Kyle T. Winters of Indianapolis, Indiana, two sisters, Marcile (John) Willis of Oxford, Ohio and Jerrie (Stephen) Suckow of Columbus, Indiana, two nieces, Carol Suckow of Maui, Hawaii and Suzanne (Brent) Normington of Indianapolis, Indiana, and three cousins, Richard A. (Joanne) Kennedy of Connersville, Mary Ruth (James) Bosch of Jacksonville, Florida and Cynthia (Al) Roark of Troy, Ohio.

Family and friends may call Saturday, August 3, 2013 at Miller, Moster, Robbins Funeral Home from 9:30 until 10:30 AM; Graveside Services will be conducted immediately following at 11 AM in Dale Cemetery same day, Rev.
