Charlene Jo Alsup, 53, died Jan. 12, 2008 at Wesley Methodist Center, Wichita. She was born Jan. 28, 1954, in Holyrood, the daughter of Dale J. and Emma Sulc Klima. A lifetime resident of Barton County, she owned and operated Charlene's Day Care, and had worked at TG&Y, Fuller Brush Company and Wal-Mart. She belonged to the First Southern Baptist Church, Great Bend. On Oct. 4, 1975, she married Jeff Alsup in Great Bend. He survives. Other survivors include a daughter, Stacy Sanders and husband Matthew, Great Bend; her mother, Emma Klima, Great Bend; a brother, Dale C. Klima and wife Chris, Great Bend; two sisters, Judy Triplett and husband Ron, and Marilyn Dunham and husband Steve, all of Great Bend; and two grandchildren, Cole and Paige Sanders. Funeral will be a 2 p.m. Wednesday at the First Southern Baptist Church, with the Rev. Dr. Doyle Smith presiding. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Tuesday at Bryant Funeral Home, Great Bend, with the family present from 7 to 9 p.m. Burial will be in Great Bend Cemetery, North. Memorials may be sent to the American Diabetes Association, or the First Southern Baptist Church, both in care of the Funeral Home.
