Orville C. Emmons, 72, died August 23, 2004 at his Indiahoma home.
He was born July 16, 1932 to Homer and Gladys YOUNG Emmons in Mountain Park. He attended school in Mountain Park and Snyder. He graduated from Snyder High School in 1950.
He married Freda Mane STOLL December 21, 1951 at the Holy City in the Wichita Mountains. they lived on the family home place south of Indiahoma for 52 years.
Emmons was a member of the Farm Bureau in Comanche County from 1980 to 2003, serving as president for many years. He was a member of State Farm Bureau from 1995 to 2002. He was a supporter of the Comanche County Saddle and Sirlion Club and the Indiahoma Ag Boosters. He was instrumental in Orville and Shawn's Toy Drive for Indiahoma and Snyder. He was a member of the Indiahoma Methodist Church.
Survivors include his wife Freda of the home; one son Rocky Emmons and special friend Karoline Coffey, Fisher, Texas; one daughter Judy Spraggins and husband Bille, Frederick; two sisters, Geraldine Baden and husband Oren, Roosevelt; and Linda Long and husband Larry, Elk City; and two grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his parents, one brother Leon Emmons and one sister JoAnn McCullough.
Services are August 26, 2004 at the Emmons home place south of Indiahoma with Daryl Perry and Don Armes officiating. Burialwill follow in the Emmons Family Cemetery under the direction of Jackson Funeral Home, Frederick.
Memorials may be made to the Orville Emmons Ag Youth Fund % IBC, Attn. Jeanie Davis, P. O. Box 888, Lawton, OK 73501.
Visitation was the evening of August 25 from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Gathering House at Jackson Funeral Home in Frederick.
