Anna May (Vikturek) Miller Obituary – Paper unknown (Probably Powell Tribune)

Mrs. Paul Miller, 36, died late Thursday night at her home a mile and a half south of Powell.

She was the mother of ten children.

The late Mrs. Miller was born Anna Mae Vikturek at Plymouth Iowa, Jan. 20, 1926, the daughter of Mr. and the late Mrs. Edward Vikturek. Her mother, who preceded her in death less than a year ago, was from a pioneer family of the Garland community.

Mrs. Miller moved with her parents to a farm south of Powell when very small. She was graduated from Powell high school.

She did office work for two years for a feed store in Powell prior to her marriage to Paul Miller on March 1, 1946, at Red Lodge, Mont. The couple lived in the Clarksfork area for a time before moving to Powell in 1950 when he was employed by the Town of Powell in the electrical department and has continued in this employ since that time.

Survivors include the husband and 10 children, Stephen, Edward, Lois Ann, Linda, Vincent, Arthur, Sharon, Charles, Joseph, and Johnny; her father of Powell and many other relatives.

Mrs. Miller was a member of St. Barbara's Catholic church, St. Monica Circle and Riverside Club. Rosary was held at 7:30 p.m. Monday at St. Barbara's church. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the church with the Rev. Daniel B. Carroll officiating. Burial will be at Crown Hill cemetery, under the direction of Easton Funeral Home.

Pallbearers will be Vincent Schiltz, Leo Hollcroft, Vincent Spiering, Leonard Schaefer, Eugene Dunleavy, and Harold Gilbert.

Powell – Requiem High Mass was offered at St. Barbara's church on Aug. 7, with the Rev. D. B. Carroll officiating, for Mrs. Paul Miller, who died suddenly on July 26 at her home south of Powell.

Mrs. Miller was a convert. She was born Anna Mae Vikturek at Plymouth Ia., Jan. 20, 1926, the daughter of Mr. and the late Mrs. Edward Vikturek. Her mother, who preceded her in death less than a year ago, was from a pioneer family of the Garland community.

Mrs. Miller moved with her parents to a farm south of Powell when very small. She was graduated from Powell high school. She was married to Paul Miller on March 1, 1946. The couple lived in the Clarksfork area for a time before moving to Powell in 1950.

She was the mother of 10 children, Stephen, Edward, Lois, Sharon, Charles, Joseph, and John (transcriber note: 3 children – Linda, Vincent, & Arthur are omitted in this obit). Survivors include her husband, her father of Powell and many other relatives.

Mrs. Miller was a member of St. Barbara's Altar and Rosary society and served as vice president for one term. She was also a member of St. Monica's circle and was active in church and community work.

Pallbearers were the husbands of the members of St. Monica's circle; Vincent Spiering, Vincent Schiltz, Leo Hollcroft, Leonard Schaefer, Eugene Dunleavy, and Harold Gilbert. Mrs. Miller's two sons, Stephen and Edward, were altar boys.

Following the funeral services a dinner was served to members of the family at the Catholic Center by the women of St. Barbara's Altar and Rosary society.
