Paula Ann Wilson was the daughter of Paul W and Hazel M Waltersdorf Wilson. She was raised in Grinnell and graduated from Grinnell High School in 1965. She also attended UNI and later she received a degree in dental assisting in Minnesota.
She married Stuart Porter November 24, 1968 in Grinnell. They were the parents of Mindy and Matt.
They lived in Grinnell and she worked as a dental assistant and a receptionist for Bauman, Agnew and Cochran Dental Clinic and later for Family Dentistry in Grinnell.
Paula enjoyed writing poetry, collecting angels and butterflies and spending time with her grandchildren and her pet dog "Taffy".
She was a member of the Grinnell Christian Church and attended breast cancer support group meetings during her illness.
