Wayne Alfred Ahlquist, resident of San Pablo Wayne passed away peacefully at his home on July 19, 2013 at age 92. He had lived in San Pablo for over 60 years. Predeceased by his loving wife, Kathryn Lucille Ahlquist and son Richard Ahlquist, survived by his loving daughter and son-in-law Judy and Jimmy Rodgers, nephews Arlan Olson (wife Amy) and Gary Olson of Minnesota; cherished grandfather of Tom Rodgers (wife Michelle), Tracy Hunckler (husband David), and Richard Ahlquist; and great-grandfather of Matthew (wife Frances) and Tyler Rodgers, and Justin, Joshua and Jordan Hunckler. Wayne was born in Milaca, Minnesota and worked on the family farm there in Chase Brook Township until he served in the U.S. Army in World War II. Wayne then worked for International Harvester in Richmond, CA with over 30 years of service. Wayne enjoyed his trips back to Minnesota to see family and the farm. He also enjoyed pheasant hunting, fishing, bowling, riding horses, and spending time with his family and special friends, including those from the Pinole Senior Center and those who cared for him during his last years. Friends and family are invited to a Visitation: 5:00PM-8:00PM Wed. 7/24 Chapel of the Mission Bells 13644 San Pablo Ave. in San Pablo. Funeral Service: Thurs. 7/25 12:30PM Chapel of The Mission Bells followed by a reception. Interment: Thurs. 7/25 2:30PM Rolling Hills Memorial Park in Richmond Ca.Wilson & Kratzer Mortuary (510) 232-6552 handled the arrangements.
