Spring Glen: Jack Norvin Allred, 85 beloved husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather and friend, passed peacefully surrounded by family at the Utah Valley Specialty Hospital, in Provo, Utah, on Friday, July 19, 2013.

Jack was born December 28, 1927 in Standardville, Utah to Charles Earl and Gladys Eleanora Jensen Allred. He was raised in Cleveland, Utah surrounded by many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

On September 15, 1950 he married Hazel Brasher in the Manti LDS Temple for time and all eternity.

Jack and Hazel lived in Orem, Utah while both were attending Brigham Young University receiving their Bachelor Degrees. Upon completion of their education and receiving job offers in the Carbon County School District, they lived briefly in Helper, Utah until purchasing their beautiful homes and gardens in Spring Glen, Utah, where they have lived for over 50 years.

Jack loved his community, involving himself in many civic and religious projects. He was active in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and served in many leadership capacities but his favorite was being the Bishop of the Spring Glen Ward.

For 33 years Jack was a teacher and a coach at Helper Junior High School in Helper, Utah. This was not a job for Jack, this was a passion. He loved being a teacher and nothing pleased him more than seeing one of "his students" enjoying success in their lives.

He is survived by his loving wife Hazel and their 4 children: Jody Allred Prettyman and Larry D Prettyman of Helper, Utah, Jenny Lynn Allred Black and Jon L Black of Spring Glen, Utah, Kenneth Joel Allred and Rachel Skinner Allred of Roy, Utah and Jason N Allred and J'Lynn Anderson Allred of West Jordan, Utah. He is also survived by 14 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren, sisters Earlene Black of Huntington, Utah, Eldeth (Greg) Wakefield of Price, Utah, brothers, Don Allred of Ferron, Utah and Fred (DeCarma) Allred of Huntington, Utah.

Jack was preceded in death by his parents, Earl and Gladys, infant brother, Dale, brother-in-law, Ross Black and Jim Young, sister-in-law Vonnie Dee Allred and nephews, Dale Black and Jordan Hatch.

Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, July 23, 2013 at the Spring Glen LDS Church, (1985 W. 4000 N., Spring Glen, UT). A viewing will be held on Monday, July 22, 2013 from 6-8 pm at Fausett Mortuary (680 E. 100 S., Price, UT) and on Tuesday from 9:30-10:30 am at the Church prior to the services.
