ROGERS, James (Jay) Thomas - 70, loving husband and father died Saturday July 20th following an illness. Jay was born in McMinn County and had lived in the Knoxville area since 1951. Jay was a retired Master Carpenter working in area building construction.
He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Emily Sue Rogers; daughter, Lori Holmann and husband Patrick; 2 brothers, Parnick Rogers and Dan Alvin Rogers and wife, Laverne; special uncle, Lee Doss and several nieces and nephews; 3 special canine children, Akasha, Sadie and Bubba.
The family will receive friends at Highland South Funeral Home 9010 East Simpson Rd. Knoxville, Tuesday July 23 from 5:30 - 7:30 p.m. Graveside services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday July 24 at Highland South Memorial Cemetery, Published in Knoxville News Sentinel on July 22, 2013.
