OBITUARY

Mrs. Lydia A., wife of Deacon Benjamin Binney, died at her home in Boone township, after a brief illness, November 24, 1878, in the 48th year of her age.

Mrs. Binney was born in Clarke county, Ohio, in 1831. She, with her parents, immigrated to Logansport, in the vicinity of which she has lived ever since. She was married in 1847 to Benjamin Binney, who now survives her. In October, 1853, she united with the Crooked Creek Baptist Church, of which she has been ever since a faithful and devoted member, always, when possible, attending the public services of the sanctuary; was there the last Sabbath of her life, when disease was already preying on her system. She leaves her aged parents, a kind husband, and seven affectionate children, together with many other friends to mourn an irreparable loss. The funeral services was large attended at the Crooked Creek Baptist Church, where a discourse was delivered upon the occasion by Rev. A. H. Dooly.
