Armenta May Kirkbride was the third child of Lewis and Nancy Ann Wheeler Kirkbride. She grew up in Monroe County, Ohio with her five siblings. In 1893, the family moved to Osage County, Kansas where three more children were born.
Armenta met and married Alvin Leslie Goodsell in 1906 at Osage County. Their four children were Mildred, Albert, Floyd and Lillie. Floyd died as an infant and is buried in the Lyndon Cemetery in Osage County, Kansas.
The Goodsell and Kirkbride families moved to Edwards County about 1915. Armenta passed away on December 30, 1916. She was 28 years old. She left her husband and three little children.
