Rodney F. Pickens
NORTH JACKSON - Rodney F. Pickens, 58, 11148 Mahoning Ave. Ext., died at 4:35 p.m. Sunday in St. Joseph's Hospital, Warren, where he was a patient a month.
He was born Aug. 4, 1915 in London, Ohio, the son of Frank and Bertha Timmons Pickens.
A resident here eight years, coming from Newton Falls, he was employed by the Newton Lumber Co.
He was a veteran of World War II, and a member of American Legion Post 236 of Newton Falls.
Survivors include his wife, Vera Shamhart Pickens, whom he married Oct. 23, 1937; two daughters, Mrs. Melvin (Myrna) Staats of Braceville, Mrs. Richard (Linda) Kender of Windsor; two sisters, Mrs. Wayne (Donna) Henry of North Lewisburg, Ohio, Mrs. Frank (Opal) Sexton of Columbus; and two grandchildren.
Services will be held Wednesday at 2 p.m. at the James Funeral Home, Newton Falls, where friends may call from 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday.
