"C. Welles Little, 69, of 844 Rolling Road, a well-known Hagerstown attorney and former United States Commissioner, died Friday at the Washington County Hospital. Born in Towanda, Pa., he was the son of Stanley J. and Ellen Welles Little.
He was a member of St. John's Episcopal Church. A member of Fountain Head Country Club, he was a graduate Lawrenceville Preparatory School, Washington and Lee University, and received his Juris Doctors Degree in 1927. He was admitted tot he Bar in 1928. He was a member of the Washington County and Maryland Bar Association, and has practiced in Hagerstown since 1930. He was a former Equity examiner for the Washington County Circuit Court, and was a member of the Washington County Board of Liquor Licenses. Also, he was a member of the Assembly Club, and a former United States Commissioner.
He is survived by his wife, Charlotte S. Warfield Little; two daughters, Mrs. Maugertie J. Simon, of Columbia, Mo., and Mrs. Mary L. Kennedy of Wilmington, Del; two step-daughters, Mrs. Patricia W. Radcliffe of Hagerstown, and Mrs. Penny W. Lewis of Santa Barbara, Calif.; step-mother Blanche C. Little of Hagerstown; and 13 grandchildren.
Honorary pallbearers will be Fred Wright Jr., John V. Jamison III, Lew Fabnestock, Thruman Lindsey, Martin J. Urner, Joseph Dagenais, Lynn K. Brugh, David W. Byron, Edgar C. Mthais, Charles D. Lyon, Leonard G. Mathias, Samuel C. Strile and members of the Washington County Bar Association.
Memorial services will be held at 2 p.m. at St. John's Episcopal Church on Monday. Cannon David C. Trimble will officiate. Arrangements were handled by the Gerald N. Minnich Funeral Home..."
