David Fant, age 57, of Atlanta, Texas went to be with the Lord Saturday, July 20, 2013 in Shreveport, Louisiana.

David was born September 17, 1955 in Atlanta, Texas to George William Sr. and Zema Fant. He was retired from the State of Texas where he was the Health and Sanitation Inspector. He was currently employed with Red River Army Depot where he was a mechanic. David was a Texas Army National Guard Veteran, member of Friendship Baptist Church and enjoyed genealogy and spending time with his grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, George Williams Sr. and Zema Fant; a brother, George Fant Jr.; a nephew, Tom Fant.

He is survived by his wife of 22 years, Tammye Fant of Atlanta, Texas; one son, David Jackson and wife Amanda of Atlanta, Texas; three daughters, Glory Fant Frazier of Bonham, Texas, Haley Squyres and husband Matthew of Jefferson, Texas, Jennifer Squyres and husband Zach of Bivins, Texas; five grandchildren, Jackson Squyres, Dylan Frazier, Jenna Squyres, Samuel Squyres, Tucker Squyres; Father and Mother In Law, Talmadge and Virginia English of Atlanta, Texas; sister in law, Winnie Fant of Atlanta, Texas; two nephews, Steve Fant of Texarkana, Texas, Chad Heldt of McLeod, Texas and a number of other relatives and friends.

Graveside services will be 10:00 A.M., Wednesday, July 24, 2013 at Smyrna Cemetery with Bro. Gene Parker officiating.

Visitation will be 6:00-8:00 P.M., Tuesday, July 23, 2013 at Hanner Funeral Service.

Interment will be in Smyrna Cemetery, Cass County, Texas.
