LEWISTOWN - Rodney W. Armstrong, 60, of Lewistown, died on Friday, July 19, 2013, at his home.Born on March 1, 1953, in Lewistown, he was a son of Larry R. and Janet A. (Henry) Armstrong.In addition to his parents, Rodney is survived by: his wife, Judy L. (Brannan) Armstrong; sons, Jarod W. Armstrong, of Lewistown, and Lucas E. Armstrong and fiancee, Beth Dobson, of New Lancaster Valley; three grandchildren, Seth, Ryder and Bailey Armstrong, of New Lancaster Valley; and a brother, Robin L. Armstrong and wife, Wanda, of McClure.Rodney was preceded in death by an infant brother, Trent Christopher Armstrong.He was a 1971 graduate of Penn Highlands High School, Chief Logan Campus.He retired from New Holland and was currently driving vehicles for Bobby Rahal.Rodney was a member of Wagner United Methodist Church and attended Maitland Church of the Brethren.
He enjoyed spending time with family and friends, especially his grandchildren. He also enjoyed the outdoors, hunting and fishing and was an avid reader.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, July 24, 2013, at Maitland Church of the Brethren, 315 Crossover Drive, Lewistown, with the Rev. Charles Eldredge officiating.A viewing will be held from 6 to 9 p.m. Tuesday, July 23, 2013, at Heller- Hoenstine Funeral Homes, Inc. Woodlawn, 200 N. Main St., Lewistown.Interment will take place in Maitland Church of the Brethren Cemetery.Memorial contributions may be made to Maitland Church of the Brethren Cemetery Association, c/o Linda Brannan, 60 Mountain View Drive, Lewistown, PA 17044
