Maxine Loretta Plamann, age 96, died peacefully on Thursday, September 20, 2012 at Rennes Health Care in Appleton due to Alzheimers. Maxine was born October 31, 1915 in Neillsville, Wisconsin, daughter of the late John and Lena (Davis) Southard. She grew up in the Marshfield area and was a 1933 Marshfield High School graduate. Maxine was united in marriage to Paul F. Winkler in Marshfield in 1934 and he preceded her in death in 1979. She then married Merrill Plamann and he also preceded her in death in 2008. She spent most of her life in the Appleton area where she enjoyed spending time with her family. Maxine loved to sew and crochet and was a gifted writer. She had several poems and writings published in national magazines. Maxine is lovingly survived by her family, Barbara Zimmer, Ft. Myers, FL; Susan Ballou, Appleton; William Winkler and Barb Droske, Wisconsin Rapids; two granddaughters, Wenda Winkler, Appleton; Lynn Winkler Little Chute; a daughter-in-law, Joyce Winkler, Appleton; two step-children, Jeff (Patti) Plamann, and Amy Plamann both of Appleton; a sister-in-law, Peggy Southard, Appleton; and by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was also preceded in death by a son, Richard Winkler, two sons-in-law, Robert Ballou and Wayne Zimmer and a brother, Gerald Southard. A memorial service will be held 2:30PM Wednesday, September 26, 2012 at the funeral home with Chaplain Michael Williams officiating. Inurnment will be in Highland Memorial Park. Maxine's family will receive relatives and friends at the funeral on Wednesday from 1:00PM until the hour of service. A memorial fund is being established for AseraCare Hospice of 1294 Lombardi Avenue Green Bay 54304. Maxine's family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff at Rennes Health Care, Chaplain Michael Williams and the staff of AseraCare Hospice, Tammy and Jen for all the tender loving care shown to her and her family during this most difficult time.
