Mrs. Rachel McGee Lloyd, 79, died Saturday, March 27, 2004, at Bradford Village West in Kernersville. She was born in Forsyth County to Soloman A. and Ivy Mable Bostic McGee. She was a member of New Birth Baptist Church. She was a nurse, supported the Veterans, was a volunteer collector for the Winston-Salem Rescue Mission and was a volunteer fund-raiser for the Salem Chapel Fire Department. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Lloyd was preceded in death by two husbands, Robert J. Shouse, on April 28, 1979, and James Lloyd, on Dec. 20, 1985; her daughter, Brenda Gail Norris; four sisters, Hazel Davis, Pheobe Troutt, Ruby Warren and Mary Edith McGee; and three brothers, Alfred McGee, Alton McGee and Walter McGee. Surviving are three sons, Robert Richard (Pat) Shouse, George Arthur (Linda) Shouse and Ronald Eugene (Joyce) Shouse; five grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; a special friend, Gaye Moorefield; and a lifelong friend, Patricia Richardson. A 2 p.m. funeral service will be held Monday, March 29, at New Birth Baptist Church on Dennis Road with burial following in the church cemetery. Bro. Brian Taylor and Bro.
