Carl. H. Kinnick, 78, Johnson City, passed away Friday, July 19, 2013 at James H. Quillen Veterans Affairs Medical Center, Mountain Home. Born on August 20, 1934, he was son of the late John Alison and Cordie Nelson Kinnick. Mr. Kinnick was a member of Hawthorne Church of the Brethren, Johnson City and attended Trinity Church of the Brethren, Blountville. He also served as a financial secretary for the Church. Mr. Kinnick was a veteran of the United States Army and a Mason. He was a Supervisor at Wright's Supermarket for thirty-one years and a Manager at Food City for seventeen years. He loved gardening and mowing, NASCAR and antique cars. In addition to his parents, Mr. Kinnick was preceded in death by a brother in-law, Alan Smith and a niece Sarah Volkman.
Those left to cherish his memory include his wife of fifty-eight years, Ruth Ann Kinnick, Johnson City; three sons, Carl Scott Kinnick and wife Mary, Johnson City, David Bryan Kinnick and wife Christy, Frankli, TN and Michael Alison Kinnick, Johnson City; grandchildren, Gabrielle Kinnick, Louis Kinnick, Gleeson Kinnick and Nick Wegman; a brother John Henry Kinnick; a sister Kay Kinnick Napier. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Sunday, July 21, 2013 at 7:00 PM in the Sunrise Chapel of Tetrick Funeral & Cremation Services, Johnson City. The family will receive friends from 5:00 PM until the service hour at the funeral home. A Graveside Service will be held at Monte Vista Memorial Park, Johnson City, on Monday, July 22, 2013 at 11:00 AM. Those wishing to follow in procession are asked to meet at Tetrick Funeral & Cremation Services at 10:15 AM. Family and Friends will serve as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Robert Adams, Floyd Haws, Edward Fagan, Ralph Brown and Brownie King.
