Russell "Dean" Rose, 82, passed from this life on Saturday, July 20, 2013, at Mercy Medical Center in Des Moines. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, July 24, at Iles Funeral Homes, Sundberg-Kirkpatrick Chapel in Madrid. Burial will follow at Polk City Cemetery, in Polk City.

Dean was born on October 1, 1930, in Boone, Iowa, to Russell N. Rose and Vivian V. (Bennett) Rose. He married Norma Jean (Halterman) Rose on July 30, 1950 in Polk City, where they made their home together for 56 years. Dean was formerly employed with Firestone for 32 years, until his retirement in 1985. During his retirement, Dean enjoyed woodworking, and refinishing antique furniture. He loved spending time with his family and going to his grandchildrens' and great-grandchildrens' ballgames.

He is survived and lovingly remembered by his three daughters, Peggy Ann Kaiser, Deanna Jean Brudtkuhl and Patty Jo Endriss all of Polk City; two sisters, Judy Paul and Wanda Dalton both of Madrid; brother, Roger Rose of Lake City, MN; and six grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. Dean was preceded into eternal life by his parents; beloved wife, Norma; and one sister, Norma Smith.
