Barbara E. Torrence, 74 formerly of Hopewell Township passed away peacefully at her home in Ambridge on Saturday July 20, 2013 surrounded by her loving family, following a very short illness.
Barb was born in Chester, WV; on August 19, 1938 to the late Wilmer and Doris Mumaw Pugh.
A homemaker, she had attended Chester schools and the Grandview Mission in Lawrenceville.
The most precious things in Barb's life were her family and she loved playing Canasta with them as well as with her many friends.
Her husband, James H. Torrence who she married on October 2, 1958, passed away on August 21, 2007.
Her sister, Delores Love and brothers, Sonny and Ronnie Pugh also preceded her in death.
Barb's loving family includes her daughters, Tina Dugan and husband Ed Stuber of Ambridge, Kim Raposa of Portsmouth, RI; and Jamie Chiappini and husband Mark of St. Louis, MO; her brother, Gary Pugh and wife Liz, and sister Marian Reed and husband Vic, both of Chester; grandchildren, Michael J. Raposa, Lcpl Matthew J. Raposa USMC and wife Linh, Amanda Dugan and companion Jarrod Kovach, Colby Ulm and husband Robert Ulm USCG, Jacob Bolls and Jessica Thomas, great grandchildren, Madison, Mackenzie, Gaige, and Andrew, great great grandchild, Aleigha and her faithful dog, Sebastian.
Several nieces and nephews survive as well.
