Obituary for Mr. Timothy "Tim" Hodges
Mr. Timothy "Tim" Hodges, 54, of Oliver passed away Saturday evening, July 20, 2013 at the Ogeechee Area Hospice Inpatient Facility.
The Screven County native was born to the late Ella Peavy and William Marcus Hodges. He was a retired sawyer and like his father was employed in the timber business for all of his life. He was employed with Empire Lumber, Howard Lumber, Wall Timber, and finally with Evans Lumber. He loved the Ogeechee River and enjoyed spending time at the Halcyondale Landing with friends and family. He spent most of his days riding on his tractor and farming part time. He especially loved spending time with his grandson, Chazz. He was preceded in death by his father-in-law, Thomas Brinson.
Survivors include his wife of 34 years, Terry Hodges; a daughter, Tonya Hodges; a son, Wendell Hodges; sisters and brothers-in-law, Edith Brower, Mary and Bill Roberts and Sherrie and Sam Graham; brothers, Johnny Hodges and Jack Hodges, a grandson, Chazz Hodges; his mother and father-in-law, Marie and Bobby Owens; sister-in-laws and brother-in-laws, Sonya and Keith Davis, Angela and Terry Jones, and Tony Brinson.
Visitation will be Tuesday, from 5:00-7:00pm at the Joiner Anderson Screven Chapel.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, July 24th, 2013, at 11:00AM in the Screven Chapel of Joiner Anderson Funeral Home, with Elder Daniel Strickland officiating.
Interment will follow in the Little Ogeechee Baptist Church Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to Ogeechee Area Hospice, P.O. Box 531 Statesboro, GA 30459.
Pallbearers will be Darrell Boykin, Landry Jones, Ronnie Lovett, Brian Nunnally, Buster Godbee, and Randy Murray.
Honorary pallbearers include Keith Davis, Terry Jones, Austin Davis and Aaron Davis.
