In 1795, Jotham and his brother, William, came to Stratton Gore, Vermont, with their mother, Anna. They settled into a log cabin owned by their half-brother, Joshua Grout. The next year they were joined by their father, Samuel Pike. By 1800, Jotham had built his own house and was living independently. He married Hannah Goodell, Dec 3, 1801, with whom he had ten children:1)Joseph 1802; 2)Emily 1803; 3)Eunice 1806; 4)Moses 1808; 5)Alexander 1810; 6)Louisa 1812; 7)Anna 1814; 8)Samuel 1816; 9)Jotham Jr 1821; 10)Hannah Maria 1823. He successfully expanded his farm and was elected to several positions in Stratton Town government. His wife, Hannah, passed away in 1836. In 1837, he married Anna (Smith). Shortly after their marriage, he sold the farm. He and Anna settled briefly in Manchester, Vermont and then lived a few years in Grafton, Vermont, before returning to the Stratton/Somerset community where Jotham remained until his death.
