THATCHER – Mrs. Mary Bertah Petersen Andersen, 86, of Thatcher died Friday evening at the Pioneer Memorial Nursing Home in Brigham City following a long illness.

She was born March 18, 1883, in Norway, a daughter of Carl J. and Welhelmina Petersen.

She came to Utah with her parents as converts to the LDS church at the age of 10.

She was married to Hans P. Andersen, Jan. 3, 1901, in the Logan LDS Temple. He died Aug. 8, 1920.

She has been active as a visiting teacher in the LDS Relief Society.

Survivors include seven daughters, Minnie A. Potter of Tremonton, Mrs. James (Edith) holdaway, Mrs. Henry (Arthlia) Marble, both of Deweyville, Mrs. H.J. (Grace) Baker of Portland, Ore.; Mrs. Ernie (Elnora) Chibante of Berekley, Calif.; Mrs. John (Daisy) Gorberg of Farmington, and Mrs. Marion (Donna) Glenn of Nyssa, Ore; 40 grandchildren, 65 great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren; two brothers and two sisters, Engvar C. Petersen of Penrose, Fred L. Petersen of Brigham City, Mrs. Gunda Borgstrom and Mrs. Amy Petersen, both of Thatcher.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 1 p.m. In the Thatcher LDS Ward Chapel with Bishop Verl Waldron officiating.

Friends may call at the Petersen Funeral Chapel in Brigham City Monday from 7 to 9 p.m. And Tuesday at the Thatcher LDS Ward Chapel from 11 a.m. Until time of service.

Burial will be in the Penrose Cemetery.

8. Daisy Vontella Anderson 1918 – 2001
9. Donna C Anderson 1921 – 2002
