Everett Rhea Ferguson, 70, of 525 Tanglewood Drive, Martinsville, died Tuesday, March 26, 2002, at Memorial Hospital of Martinsville and Henry County. He was owner and operator of E.R. Ferguson Construction Company.

He was born Aug. 23, 1931, in Bassett to the late George Thomas Ferguson and the late Mattie Reed Smith Ferguson.

He served in the Army with the 820th Engineer Aviation Battalion during the Korean Conflict; was a member of Piedmont Lodge #152 AF & AM, and he was a member of Chatham Heights United Methodist Church.

Surviving are his wife, Virginia Shumate Ferguson of the home; one aunt; one uncle and several cousins.

A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at Roselawn Burial with the Rev. Tilden Bridges officiating.

His family will meet with friends at Norris Funeral Services from 12:30 p.m. Friday until time for the 2 p.m. funeral.

Memorials may be made to Chatham Heights United Methodist Church, 1817 Old Chatham Road, Martinsville, Va. 24112.
