Atlanta - Jones Harber Aderhold, Jr., 82, of Atlanta, died Sept. 3, 2007. Services will be 10:30am, Saturday, Sept., 8, 2007 at the Chapel of Evans Funeral Home. Interment in Woodbine Cemetery. Survivors: sons Andrew & Steven Aderhold; daughter Marian Aderhold Jackson; brother Thomas Aderhold; six GC. Arrangements by Evans F. H., Jefferson.

JONES HARBER ADERHOLD, JR. Evans Funeral Home, Jefferson, Georgia, announces the death of Mr. Jones Harber Aderhold, Jr., age 82, of Atlanta, who passed away on Monday, September 3, 2007. Mr. Aderhold, a native of Commerce, GA, spent his teenage years living on St. Simons Island and was the son of the late, Jones Harber Sr. and Francis Holder Aderhold. He was a 1948 graduate of Georgia Tech and a Veteran of World War II, serving in Japan. After graduation, Jones, went to work in the commercial construction business with his uncle's firm: Griffin Construction Company. Following his uncle, Carol Griffin's death: Mr. Aderhold and Edwin P. Ansley, Jr. purchased the construction company and renamed it Ansley Aderhold Company, then eventually to Aderhold Construction Company. He built commercial and industrial projects nationwide throughout his career. In 1988, he retired and closed his company. Mr. Aderhold married Marian Laura Hardy of Jefferson, GA; they were married for 58 years. The couple were born next door to one another three weeks apart; and passed away within 11 days of each other. It was said he stood up in his crib and proposed to her when he was three weeks old. Survivors include his sons, Andrew Hardy Aderhold of Atlanta; and Steven Jones Aderhold of Lawrenceville; daughter, Marian Aderhold Jackson of Ashville, NC; grandchildren, Jones Harber Aderhold, III; Hunter Jones Jackson; and Andie Caroline Jackson; Steven Jones Aderhold, Jr.; Alex Aderhold and Abbe Aderhold; brother; Thomas C. Aderhold. A Funeral Service will be held 11 AM, Thursday, September 6 at St. James United Methodist Church, 4400 Peachtree Dunwoody Road, Atlanta, GA. Also a funeral service will be held 10:30 AM, Saturday, September 8 at the Chapel of Evans Funeral Home. Interment will be in Woodbine Cemetery, Jefferson. The family will receive friends Friday evening from 6 until 8 PM at Evans Funeral Home, Jefferson, GA (706)367-5467.
