Jessie Carlock Crawford, 78, of Rossville, GA, died on Tuesday, July 16, 2013 at a local hospital.
She was a lifelong resident of the North Georgia area and was a 1953 graduate of LaFayette High School.
She retired in 1997 from the Ringgold Telephone Company with 23 years of service as a bookkeeper. After her retirement she, and Tom, enjoyed traveling and seeing the country.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Fred and Bessie Carlock; brothers, Bill Carlock and Frank "Pete" Carlock; sisters, Juanita Ukena, Mary Doyle, and Katie Carlock.
Survivors include her devoted companion of 25 years, Thomas Grimes, Jr.; sons, Mike (Supattra) Crawford of Wyoming and Randy (Karen) Crawford of Chattanooga, TN; grandsons, Dustin, Corey, and Carter Crawford; brothers, J.D. (Nina) Carlock of Celina, TX and Jack (Virginia) Carlock of Fredericksburg, VA; sister, Alice Hatch of Ringgold, GA; sister-in-law and caregiver, Mary Jane Carlock of Rock Spring, GA; and several nieces and nephews.
Graveside services will be held on Saturday, July 20, 2013 at 10 a.m. at the Rock Spring UMC Cemetery with Reverend David Cox officiating.
Arrangements are by the South Crest Chapel of Lane Funeral Home and Crematory, at the end of historic Missionary Ridge, Rossville, GA.
