Thomas J. Brown, 85, died on Sept. 28, 2000 of Sholtis Road, Lake Township, died Thursday at Valley Crest, Plains Township.
Born in Pittston, he was a son of the late Martin and Anna (Moran) Brown. He attended Coughlin High School. He was a custodian for Leslie Fay, Plains Township.
He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II and was awarded two Bronze Stars. He was a member of Our Lady of Victory Church and American Legion Post 967, both of Harveys Lake, and the Veterans of Foreign Wars.
He was preceded in death by his brothers, Eugene, Paul, Martin, James, Frank and Emmett; and sister, Gertrude Conwell.
Surviving are his wife of 52 years, the former Mary Zosh; son, Thomas R., Shavertown section of Kingston Township; one grandson; brothers, Leonard and Joseph, both of New Jersey; and sister, Dorothy Glofka, Wilkes-Barre.
Funeral services will be at 8:30 a.m. Saturday from the Richard H. Disque Funeral Home, Inc., 672 Memorial Highway, Dallas, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 9 a.m. at Our Lady of Victory Church. The Rev. Joseph Rafferty will officiate.
Interment will be in Mount Olivet Cemetery, Carverton section of Kingston Township.
Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today. American Legion services will be at 7:30 p.m. this evening.
