Family will receive friends from 5 - 8 p.m. Saturday, July 20 and again Sunday, from 1 p.m. until time of services at the funeral home.
After a short battle with cancer, Mr. Dunn went to be with his Lord and Savior on Wednesday, July 17, 2013, at his home surrounded by his loving family.
He was born April 29, 1929 in Putnam County.
He served his country as Corporal in the United States Army Delta Company 370th Armored Infantry during the Korean War. During his service he received the Army Occupation Medal and the National Defense Service Medal.
Mr. Dunn & his wife operated Dunn's Gulf Service Station on the square in Cookeville from 1963 to 1993. He then helped his sons operate Dunn's Willow Tree BP Service Station from 1993 to 1999 before retiring.
He attended and served as usher at Friendship United Methodist Church and also enjoyed gardening.
He was preceded in death by his parents, George Roscoe Dunn and Amanda Tennessee Sliger Dunn along with a brother, Odre Dunn and sister, Elise Peek.
Pallbearers will be David Dunn, Houston Hill, Tyler Dunn, Caleb Dunn, Tanner Dunn and Eli Hudson. Honorary pallbearers will be Joyelle Hill Hudson, Ashley Dunn, Jessah Hill, and Isabelle Hudson.
Pastor Gerald Taylor will officiate the services.
