Services for Steven M. Bowden, 41, of 930 17th St., Moline, formerly of Aledo, are 10:40 a.m. Saturday at Trimble Funeral Home, Moline, and 11 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Moline, where he was a member. Burial is in St. Mary's
Cemetery, East Moline.
Visitation is 4 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home, with a rosary recited at 6:30. A memorial fund will be established in his name for brain tumor research.
Mr. Bowden died Wednesday, April 26, 1995, in University Hospitals, Iowa City.
He was born May 30, 1953, in Rock Island, the son of Bill and Virginia "Bettie'' Sager Bowden. He married Emily Lynn Kelly April 8, 1972, in
Edgington.
He was employed as a punch press operator at HON Industries, Muscatine, Iowa, for 21 years, last working in June 1994, due to illness.
He enjoyed traveling, photography, and reading.
Survivors include the widow; daughters, Amber and Christine Bowden, both at home; his parents, Moline; a sister and brother-in-law, Mary and Jim Falk, Davenport; brothers and sisters-in-law, Patrick and Jeanne Bowden, Detroit Lakes, Minn., Frank Bowden, Chicago, and Tom and Margaret Bowden, Los Angeles; his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Robert and Ida Mae Kelly, Illinois City;
his in-laws, Janice Workman, Illinois City, Kristin Kellums, Edgington, Patricia Turner, Indianapolis, and Kendall "Butch'' Kelly, Muscatine; and several nieces and nephews.
