COTTONWOOD -- Ann Katherine Goeckner, 84, a lifelong Keuterville resident, died Sunday at St. Mary's Hospital here of complications of cancer.
The daughter of Frank and Bernadina Renneker Enneking, she was born May 1, 1912, at Keuterville. She attended the Timber Country School and Keuterville High School.
She worked on local farms following her schooling.
She married Andrew L. Goeckner May 24, 1938, at Keuterville.
The couple made their home on a farm and ranch southwest of Keuterville. They lived there for the remainder of their lives and retired from working the land in 1985. He died Feb. 28, 1993.
She was a member of the Holy Cross Catholic Church at Keuterville and belonged to the Holy Cross Christian Mothers.
She was an avid gardener and also enjoyed crocheting, flowers, cooking, and especially spending time with her family.
She is survived by three sons, Ken, Wayne and Delmar Goeckner, all of Keuterville; two daughters, Wilma Baerlocher of Lewiston and Sr. Clarissa Goeckner, O.S.B., of Boise; a brother, William Enneking of Cottonwood; a sister, Elenora Mader, also of Cottonwood; 17 grandchildren; and four stepgreat-grandchildren.
Preceding her in death were three brothers, Joe, Albert and Heubert Enneking; and a sister, Rika Enneking.
A rosary and vigil service will be held at 6:30 this evening at St. Mary's Catholic Church at Cottonwood. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Holy Cross Catholic Church at Keuterville. The Rev. Michael Spegele of Holy Cross and St. Mary's will be the celebrant. Burial will follow at the Keuterville Community Cemetery.
