GREENSBORO — Ms. Catherine G. "Peanut" Dorsett, 95, was at her residence when she went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, July 18, 2013.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, July 22, 2013, at Hanes-Lineberry Vanstory Chapel. Burial will follow at Guilford Memorial Park Cemetery.

Born in Chatham County on July 14, 1918, to the late John William and Emily Thomas Griswold, Catherine attended Community Fellowship Church. She retired from Guilford Mills after many years of hard work. Catherine was a seamstress by trade and enjoyed sewing very much. She loved to read, take trips to the beach and traveling to New York City and adored her cats. Her family considered her to be a saint and will forever hold her close to their hearts. She was a loving and devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who was loved by many and will be missed by all who knew her. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three sisters.

Those left to cherish her memory include her sons, Larry F. Dorsett and his wife Marti of Whitsett and Donnie R. Dorsett of Greensboro; her adopted son, James Sink of Greensboro; sister, Idalynn May of Elon; granddaughter, Ginger Dorsett Walsworth and her husband Brian of Gibsonville; and three great-grandchildren, Abigail, Memphis, and Raeghan Walsworth.

The family will receive friends from 7 until 9 p.m. Sunday evening at the funeral home.

The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the caring staff at Hospice and Palliative Care for their amazing assistance with Catherine during the time of her declining health and would ask that memorial contributions in Catherine's memory be made to Hospice at 2500 Summit Ave., Greensboro, NC 27405.
