Tim A. Craig, 49, of Athens died Monday, July 15, 2013.

The funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, July 20, at McConnell Funeral Home with Pastor Greg Patrick officiating. Burial will be in Roselawn Cemetery.

Visitation is from noon until 2 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.

Mr. Craig was born Nov. 24, 1963, in Limestone County to Allen B. Craig and Betty Joan Gatlin Craig. He was a retired Limestone County Sheriff's deputy.

His hobbies were deer hunting, arrowhead hunting, helicopters before retirement, and watching M.A.S.H. He was also a Mason.

Survivors include his wife, Janice Gore Craig of Athens; parents, Allen B. and Joan Craig of Athens; three daughters, Elizabeth Burleson and husband David of Clinton, Miss., Dusti Coats and husband Robert of Elkmont, Nicole Brown and husband Daniel of Keller, Texas; three sisters, Anita Taylor and husband Steve of Decatur, Edwina Craig, and Lisa Thomas and husband Allen, all of Athens; mother-in-law, Miriam Gore of Huntsville; brothers-in-law, Douglas Gore of Brentwood, Tenn., Phillip Gore of Huntsville and Julian T. Gore Jr. of Arab; five grandchildren, Ashley Blount and husband Colby, Chase Ward, Parker Burleson, all of Clinton, Miss., Elle Brown and Brooke Brown, both of Keller, Texas; great-grandchildren, Addison Blount and second little Blount due in December; his beloved dog of nine years, Pedee; several nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be Chase Ward, David Burleson, Colby Blount, Chris Campbell, John Wheeler, Randy Bates, Steve Taylor and Allen Thomas.
