Wayne L. Barnett, 71, of Killeen, also known as "Bandido Barnett", passed away Tuesday, July 16, 2013. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m., Wednesday, July 24, at Heritage Funeral Home, Harker Heights. Interment will follow in Central Texas State Veterans Cemetery. Visitation will be from 9 to 11 a.m., prior to the service.
Wayne was born in Waco, Texas, to D. C. and Violet Barnett. He graduated from University High School in 1961, and immediately joined the U.S. Air Force. Wayne proudly served for 20 years before retiring. He was awarded a Bronze Star in part for his service in Vietnam.
He was preceded in death by his father; and grandparents.
Survivors include his wife, Charity Barnett; sons, Michael Barnett and wife, Vanessa, and John Barnett and wife, Delana; four grandchildren; sisters, Betty Blain, and Darlene Hardy and husband, Gary; other relatives and many friends.
