Rev. Batt was born in Frank, Russia, on Jan. 28, 1895, and came to the United States when he was five years old with his parents, George and Matilda Batt, who located in Fort Collins. He lived there until leaving to study at a Redfield, S. D. thologiacal seminary. He was married to Rose Gettman on Sept. 3, 1919.
Rev. Batt served churches in Loveland, Scottsbluff, Neb., and Greeley before being named pastor at large for the 16 western states of the German Congregational Church five years ago. Last June he was made director of all the churches in the 16 western states including about 22,000 constituents.
Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Rose Batt of Greeley, a daughter, Miriam, senior student at Colorado State College of Education, his mother, Mrs. Matilda Batt of Fort Collins, and three sisters, Mrs. Dave Greenwalt of Fort Collins, Mrs. Henry Peppler of Longmont, and Mrs. Phillip W. Frank of Loveland.
Funeral service will be held Wednesday afternoon at 2 o'clock from the First Congregationasl Church in Loveland, with interment at the Loveland cemetery.
