Peggy June (Jones) Walls, 78, of Cheyenne passed away peacefully July 12 at Northern Colorado Long Term Acute Hospital. She was born March 22, 1935, in Laporte, Colo., one of four daughters born to Marion and Lydia Jones. One sister, Ilas Powell, survives her.
She married William "Bill" Walls in 1977. He preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by a granddaughter, Gynnette June Slemmons.
Peggy retired from AT&T in 1991. She always enjoyed playing a role in her children and grandchildren's lives. She also enjoyed her lunches with her "Hallmark Girls," texting, crocheting, making baby blankets and wedding flowers.
She is survived by four children, Robert Brown Jr. (Cindy), Vickie Brown-Deag (T. Buck) and Maryan Schmidt, all of Cheyenne, and Pamela Parr (Charles Loyd) of Colorado Springs, Colo.; eight stepchildren, Rhonda Bobian, Robin Erb and Rolinda Slemmons, all of Cheyenne, Rolene Halbmaier of Aladdin, Sue Fermo, Rosanne Vilerrea of Illinois, Ray Schmidt of Wisconsin and Paul Schmidt of Texas; 24 grandchildren; 33 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. She was a mother, grandmother and friend to many.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at Wiederspahn-Radomsky Chapel. Internment will be set at a later date.
