F. Claire Marvin, 58. of Moline, died at 7:10 last night in Moline Public Hospital after a 2-year illness. Services will be at 9 Saturday morning in Wheelan Funeral Home, Moline, and at 9:30 in St. Mary's Catholic Church. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Rock Island. Friends may call after 7 tonight at the funeral home. The public rosary will be at 8 tomorrow night, and the Holy Name Society rosary at 7:30 tomorrow evening in the funeral home.
The son of William J. and Margurate Marvin, he was born April 16, 1904, in Rock Island. A life resident of this community, he moved to Moline from Milan 21 years ago. Mr. Marvin was employed as an inspector by the Farmall Works, International Harvester Co. for 28 years, retiring in November, 1961, due to illness. He married Mildred Forwinkle on July 18, 1936, in Rock Island. He was a member of St. Mary's Church, Holy Name Society of the church and Camp 26 of the Modern Woodmen of America.
Surviving are the widow; a son, Ralph Lewis, at home; five sisters Mrs. Ethel Weirather, Rock Island; Mrs. Charlotte Welch, Norwalk, O.; Mrs. Velma Stickler, Andalusia; Mrs. Margaret Schub, Ashland, Wis., and Mrs. Leola Miller, Moline; two brothers, James F., Rock Island, and Louis A., Columbus Junction, la.
His parents, two brothers and two sisters preceded him in death.
