Cheryl Lynn (Lumpkins) Morrow, 51, passed away June 25, 2013 after fighting a brave battle with cancer for two years. As Cheryl wished, she passed peacefully in her favorite place overlooking the Colorado River at her home surrounded by her family.

Cheryl was born Nov. 9, 1961 in San Bernardino, Calif. and she lived the majority of her life in the Inland Empire and graduated Colton High School in 1979.

In her last five years, Cheryl lived south of Blythe alongside the Colorado River in a spot called Sportsman's Paradise and worked in the community. Her last employer was Kenney Construction where she worked hard in a position that she loved very much. She was blessed with her neighbors and special friends who loved her very much, including her very special cat, Tiger.

Cheryl's life was remembered on June 29, 2013 in La Quinta, Calif. during a quiet ceremony with many of her family present. Cheryl's family was already together after a long-planned celebration for her mother's 70th birthday, which Cheryl insisted go on as planned.

At the memorial, the family gathered in prayer to remember their beautiful daughter, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, niece and cousin. Cheryl was a great believer in God and in her place with him to help look over her family. She will be missed very much.

Cheryl is survived by her mother Donna (Graham) Blair and father Robert E. Blair III; her son and his wife Joshua and Janelle Morrow; her daughter and husband Danielle (Morrow) and Zach Medford and her two grandchildren Eliza and Leo Medford - who lovingly called her Grandma Cher-Cher; her ex-husband, Jeff Morrow; and her loving siblings and their families; Robin and Dick Hammond, Bob and Tria Blair, Cindy and Bruce Elliott, Craig and Becky Wardlow, Gene and Jennifer Wardlow, Mike and Linda Blair; her aunt Sue Hooper and many nieces, nephews and cousins. She is also survived by her father and stepmother, James and Betty Lumpkins and their family in Yakima, Wash. and her uncle, Bill Wixom, cousin Dave Wixom, and their family in San Bernardino, Calif. Cheryl always felt blessed with an awesome family.

At a future date, her family will respect her wishes and spread her ashes at her favorite places along the Colorado River - including a ride on water skis. In lieu of gifts or flowers, the family asks for donations to be made to the Blythe Cancer Resource Center, which helped Cheryl so many times throughout her battle with cancer (checks may be sent to P.O. Box 1266, Blythe, CA 92226 in Cheryl's honor).
