Munson of Joplin, MO; eight brothers, Ben Layton of Pierce City, MO, Rodney Layton of Carthage, MO, Edwin Layton of Monett, MO, Bruce Layton of Diamond, MO, Michael Layton of Joplin, MO, Thomas Layton of Broken Arrow, OK, Timothy Layton of Wentworth, MO and Douglas Layton of Monett, MO; and three grandchildren.

John was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend. He loved the river, gardening, playing with his grandchildren and remodeling their farmhouse. Also, John was a hard working, creative and meticulous carpenter."
