DANTE, Va. Scott Andrew Woods, 70, went home to be with the Lord, Wednesday, July 17, 2013, at Johnston Memorial Hospital in Abingdon, Va. He was born in Dickenson County, Va., son of the late Frank and Elva Neece Woods. He was also preceded in death by one brother, Rex Woods. He was a retired coal miner with Clinchfield Coal Company. He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Ruth Phillips Woods; one son, Michael Woods and wife, Nancy, of Castlewood, Va.; two daughters, Beverly Woods of Saint Paul, Va., and Kimberly Rasnake and husband, Lonnie, of Honaker, Va.; three grandsons, Joseph Baker, Dalton Baker and Terry Bellamy; three granddaughters, Emmily Woods, Kendra Woods and Annie Woods; four brothers, Cecil Woods and wife, Kay, of Abingdon, Va., Ralph Woods and wife, Erica of Richlands, Va., Jerry Woods and wife, Kay, of Dante, Va., and Ray Woods and wife, Dottie, of Abingdon, Va.; one sister, Faye Phillips of Abingdon, Va.; several nieces and nephews. Funeral services for Scott Andrew Woods will be conducted 2 p.m. Sunday, July 21, 2013, in Castlewood Funeral Home Chapel, Castlewood, Va., with Bro. Monroe Greeley and the Rev. Leonard Ferguson officiating. Interment will follow at Temple Hill Memorial Park, Castlewood, Va. Nephews will serve as pallbearers. The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m. Saturday, July 20, 2013, at Castlewood Funeral Home in Castlewood, Va.
