Funeral services for Carroll W. Basil, 75, of Clarksville will be at 10 a.m. Friday, April 18, at Colgate Baptist Church, Clarksville, with burial in Walnut Ridge Cemetery, Jeffersonville. He died Wednesday, April 16, 2008 at his home.He was born in Cave City, Ky., was a retired employee of General Electric, an Army veteran, and a member of Colgate Baptist Church. Survivors include four sons, Mike Basil, Salem, and Jeff, Robert and Tommy Basil, all of Clarksville; a daughter, Janice Basil, Clarksville; a sister, Vera McCutcheon, New Albany; five grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and a special friend, Carolyn Gunn.He was preceded in death by his wife, Maxine Ann Basil. Visitation will be at Chapman Funeral Home from 4 to 8 p.m. today, Thursday, April 17. The family requests that expressions of sympathy take the form of contributions to Hospice of Southern Indiana.
