Mr. Max Ray, Jr., 60, of Hillman Rd. in Crawfordville, died Tuesday at his home.

Mr. Ray was born in Knoxville, TN, and was the son of the late Max and Beulah Bentley Ray. He was a graduate of the University of Tennessee, and was a retired beef and poultry farmer. He was a member of the Sandy Cross Baptist Church. Funeral services will be Saturday, July 20, 2013, at 11:00 am at the Sandy Cross Baptist Church with Rev. Larry Davison officiating. Interment will follow at the Crawfordville City Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Chris Ray, Walter Holbrook, Page Walker, Danny Thornton, Rob Thornton, Willie Nunn, Rager McAvoy, and David McAvoy.

He is survived by his wife, Jan Fambrough-Ray, of the home; one son, Chris Ray (Elena), of Lawrenceville; one brother, Charles Atnip, of Florida, and one sister, Brenda Ray, of Detroit, MI; two granddaughters, Aniston Ray, and Nya Victoria Ray; by his mother-in-law, Lois Fambrough, of Crawfordville; and by a number of nieces and nephews.

Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society chapter of your choice.
