Jack C. Sehn, age 88, of Moorhead, MN, died Monday, April 6, 2009 at Meritcare Hospital in Fargo, ND.
A funeral service will be held at 10:30 AM on Saturday, April 11, 2009 at the Lerud-Johnson-Schuldt Funeral Home Chapel in Valley City. Visitation will be held on Saturday morning from 9:30 AM until 10:30 AM at the funeral home.
Interment will be in Oak Creek Cemetery, Bottineau, ND in the spring.
Jack Sehn, the son of Anton and Elizabeth (Keller) Sehn, was born May 27, 1920 in Shields, ND. Jack grew up and attended school in the Shields and Cooperstown, ND area. In 1945, Jack moved with his family to Valley City, ND. Jack worked for various farmers in the Valley City area and began working with the Valley City Street Department in 1963.
On June 24, 1965, Jack married Caroline J. White in Valley City. The couple lived in Valley City where they were foster parents to a number of children. Jack retired from the Valley City Street Department in 1984. Mrs. Sehn died on April 7, 1999. Jack moved to Moorhead Manor in Moorhead, MN in 2001. Jack enjoyed dancing, playing cards and also marbles. Jack loved to spend time with his family and especially his grandchildren.
Jack is survived by three step-sons, Lester (Deloris) White, Brooksville, FL, Donald White, Ft. Worth, TX and Dennis White, Fargo, ND; one step-daughter, Carol (Fred) Bachmeier, Colorado Springs, CO; one brother-in-law, Art (Millie) Sather, Bottineau, ND; two sister-in-laws, Olga McLain, Bottineau, ND and Frances (Richard) Stanley, Minot, ND; 14 Grandchildren; 13 Great-grandchildren; 2 Great-great grandchildren.
Jack was preceded in death by his wife, parents, one brother and several sisters.
