A Master Trooper and 16-year veteran of the Indiana State Police, Michael E. Greene was treacherously gunned down in the line of duty on Interstate Highway 65 on the northwest side of Indianapolis. Due to his reputation and popularity, a large contingent of uniformed public servants, including police, fire fighters and members of the military, from throughout the country came to pay their respects at his funeral. Prior to joining the Indiana State Police, he was a student at Indiana State University, served in the Indiana National Guard and had been employed by UPS. He was a licensed pilot and a popular baseball coach in Lebanon, Indiana. A beautiful shrine is maintained at the spot where Mike Greene lost his life. (Bio by R. Barrett)
