Born on February 29th, 1928 in Heidelberg, Ontario, Bernice worked as a secretary and married Robert in 1954. They raised their family in Waterloo where they spent many happy years. Known to family members as "The Gentle One", Bernice loved being a wife and mother, knitting and sewing, and attending her church, Mount Zion Lutheran and later Faith Lutheran in Port Elgin, where she and Robert moved in 2013 to be closer to family. After Robert died, Bernice continued to live at Elgin Lodge where she met many dear friends.
