Kurtis Kruse was born July 5, 1964 in Grundy Center, Iowa the son of Donna Palmer and Harlan Kruse. Kurt was baptized at the Nain Lutheran Church in Newell. He attended school at Grundy Center where he earned his GED.
On August 14, 1993, Kurt was united in marriage to Jennifer Dee Vanderhoff in Newell where they eventually made their home in 2002 with their children, Chelsee Adele and Reed Kurtis.
Kurt enjoyed being outdoors and for every season there was a reason for him to go hunting or fishing. This love was shared with his son, Reed.
He took pride in his children's achievements and accomplishments and watching them grow into the person they have become today. A trait that his children will benefit from him was his hard work ethic. He was loyal and worked hard with whatever job he had. He always worked up an appetite and enjoyed throwing something on the grill at the end of the day. He left a strong message that you don't always need the finest and best of everything to be happy. If you knew Kurt, you could say he had a one-of-a-kind sense of humor that will remain in the many hearts of his family, extended family, and friends that he leaves behind.
